One of the wanted people, Derrell Demon Brown, has not yet been found. So far, no decision has been made. Derrell Brown used to live in a Grand Rapids church for a short time. He didn’t seem to care at all about murder. Rev. Robert Dean, who let him in, said that Darrell was always helpful.
In Cherletta Baber-bedroom, Bey’s police found a box of ammunition that had been thrown away quickly and an empty Hi-Point gun box in a dresser with men’s clothes. Findings connected Derrell Demon Brown to the Hi-Point pistol that was found at the scene.
Authorities are looking for anyone with information that could help them find Derrell Brown. There is a $25,000 reward for information that leads to his capture. Keyona is dead. 47-year-old Cherletta Baber-Bey was found passed out in her bed. She was sitting on a cushion and holding an iPad that was still playing while wearing headphones. She was hit in the back of the head by a bullet.
Target 8 says that Cherletta’s family said she was a loving, honest, and beautiful woman who avoided social situations. “Jay” was her first real love, and most of the time they spent together was in her bedroom.
Detectives were looking into who killed Cherletta when they found a box of letters in her closet. It was a string of “prison letters” between her and Derrell Brown. In those letters, Derrell said he was known as “Jay.” Every letter had the same signature.

No, the person who might have been killed has not been caught yet. In the days after the murders, the Grand Rapids Police Department gave out a transcript of Keyona Griffin’s frantic 911 call made hours before the killings, but they made it hard to hear the call itself.

We used the Freedom of Information Act to get the 911 call and police report so we could bring attention to the four-year-long search for the killer around the world.
